Resources

Unilever Pensioners Association

Meet up with fellow Unilever pensioners in your area! Join your local Unilever Pensions Association (UPA) group to enjoy lunches, quizzes, walks and social events with your former colleagues.

UPA is an umbrella organisation that is recognised and supported by Unilever.

What you need to be a member of UPA

To be a member of UPA, you must:

  • Have worked for Unilever for 10 years
  • Have retired directly from Unilever
  • Be receiving your Unilever pension
  • Be over age 55

In some situations, you don’t need to meet all the requirements. These are:

  • You were part of a company that was sold by Unilever, or you were made redundant or left under negotiated terms
  • You were over age 45 at the time

Process for joining

If you retire directly from Unilever, at the point when your pension is paid, there is a check to see if you meet the above requirements. If you do, then you’ll receive a letter introducing you to the UPA. If you think you’re eligible based on the information provided above please email the team at Unilever.PA@Unilever.com

Pensioner groups

Within UPA, there are 6 pensioner regional groups located around the UK. These groups are run by Unilever pensioners for Unilever pensioners. The types and frequency of events vary from group to group. Each group has their own constitution and subscription fee. You can apply to join any of the 6 pensioner groups at any time. You can belong to more than one group if you wish.

Regional groups

The locations of the 6 regional groups are:

  • Ashford
  • Colworth
  • Gloucester
  • Leeds
  • SUPA! (Surrey Unilever Pensioners Association)
  • Wirral

Unilever Pensioners Club (UPC)

This group is for pensioners who have worked in Head Office. There is a cost of £30 to join. If you die while a member of this group, continuing membership is available for your widow/widower free of any further subscription.

To be a member of UPC you must:

  • Have worked in a Company or Companies of the Unilever Group for at least 10 years
  • Have retired directly from the business
  • Have worked for at least 4 years in Head Office, which is within the 10 years immediately before retiring from Unilever

Head Office is defined as either 100VE, Leatherhead or Kingston.

35 Club

This is a club recognising long service within Unilever. It is the only group that current employees are able to belong to whilst still working at Unilever.

Unilever hosted lunches

You will receive an invitation to Unilever hosted pensioner lunches if there is one happening in the area you live in. You are welcome to bring your spouse or partner to these lunches, as well as a carer if you require one. Lunches are free to attend.

If you haven’t received a lunch invite but are a UPA member, or meet the requirements to be a member, please contact us at unilever.pa@unilever.com
