These are free online workshops aimed at anyone planning for retirement, with a focus on those looking to retire in the next 10 to 15 years. They will help you to:

  • Think about what retirement might look like
  • Set income targets
  • Review what you’ve saved and understand what you might get
  • Make sure you’re currently saving enough
  • Understand and consider your options at retirement

The workshops are provided as part of the Money Matters Financial Wellbeing programme for Unilever employees, run by First Actuarial. They do not provide independent financial advice.

Independent financial advice

Only a regulated independent financial adviser (IFA) can do a detailed review of your situation and give you a recommendation based on your circumstances.

An adviser can support with many queries, including:

  • What investment options best suit you
  • Whether to transfer pensions from one scheme to another
  • When to retire
  • Which retirement options to take

It can be a good idea to speak to a financial adviser if you are unsure about the options available to you or you have particularly large or complex finances. There are also some pension options that you will need independent financial advice about under UK law.

Independent financial advice by Origen

To help you access this advice and support, Unilever has negotiated preferential rates for you to use Origen Financial Services. When you receive your retirement quotation, you’ll also get information about how you can use Origen for advice and the costs for their services.

Whether you choose to use Origen, or another financial adviser, it’s a good idea to make sure you leave enough time to get advice and make changes based on what you learn.
